WORK PERMITS MEETING  17^th September 2007

The meeting of the Health Advisory meeting was held on 17^th September and was attended by NCA board member Mandy Thorn.

It was agreed that a work group led by the independent sector but including UNISON, the RCN and Skills for Care and Development as well as the three major trade associations would urgently meet to collate data on Job Descriptions, Salary Scales and Recruitment Difficulties on a regional as well as national basis. This work will then be forwarded to the Border and Immigration Agency to illustrate the difficulties the independent health and social care sector face with the new Work Permit regulations. It is hoped it will form the basis of a submission to the newly formed Migration Advisory Committee as well.

The first meeting of this working group will be held at the offices of NCA in London in early October.
